Conference Topics

  • Engaging the Public via Planetariums

    • Planetariums remain one of the most powerful tools for engaging with the public. This topic explores how we can improve this practice to better engage and inspire the participants.
  • Interdisciplinary Astronomy

    • Astronomy is a field that involves multiple disciplines, whether as a professional astronomer, amateur astronomer, astronomy educator, science communicator, public outreach personnel, and personnel belonging in other scientific or even non-scientific disciplines. This topic investigates how multiple disciplines of astronomy can come together for better astronomy communication.
  • Astronomy Education

    • Astronomy is one of the most effective science disciplines for science outreach. We shall discuss how we can structure these engagements to promote learning in the form of astronomy education among the interested public.
  • Communicating Astronomy with the Public

    • With the interests and social media in which the public receives information in the digital age, we shall discuss how the role of astronomy or science communicator adjusts to new challenges.
  • Dark and Quiet Sky

    • The modernization of urban cities greatly diminishes the human experience in appreciation of the night sky. We shall discuss how we can preserve these pristine skies for our children to experience.
  • Accessibility, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Astronomy Communication

    • People with different accessibilities, backgrounds, diversity, and equity bring unique requirements for effective communications. We shall investigate different methods in which to best bridge these gaps and communicate astronomy to everyone.
