The WE-Heraeus and NARIT Cosmology School 2025 – Galaxies and Beyond is a week-long training program for students and early-career researchers from Germany and Thailand, supported by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation (Germany) and the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), NARIT.
Held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 13–17 October 2025, the school combines lectures, hands-on computational sessions, and research presentations, covering both foundational and advanced topics in modern cosmology.
All participants at the school will be fully funded, including all domestic and international airfare as well as full room and board for the entire duration of the meeting.
With 100 participants, the school will offer a unique opportunity to build international connections while gaining deep insights into current cosmological research. Topics covered include
- cosmology
- galaxy formation
- the Milky Way
- cosmological simulations
- the ΛCDM model
- dark matter
- dark energy
- the Hubble tension.
The program fosters international collaboration and builds essential skills in theoretical and computational cosmology, aiming to establish a lasting German–Thai research network.
