Dear participants,

Attention: This is a mass email to everyone, on-site and online.
*Online participants: You'll need a working laptop, desktop, or any computer with good internet access.
*On-site participants: Please bring a working laptop and charger to the venue.

The workshop will start at 8:45 AM (GMT+7) on Monday, August 28th, 2023.
Online participants can access Zoom meetings with the link provided at the end of this email.
Please note that the meeting will be recorded and broadcast live via YouTube.

Before the first day of the workshop, please familiarize yourself with the following (especially for online participants).

1) Python coding:
You can pick various platforms to compile and run Python
1.1) Download Anaconda from https://www.anaconda.com/ and run everything on your local machine (using Jupyter)
1.2) Compile and run Python on Cloud via https://www.anaconda.com/code-in-the-cloud/
1.3) Compile and run Python on https://colab.research.google.com/

There is a quick intro on each of the platforms, so you can start familiarizing yourself with installing packages, importing them, and the basic algorithm of Python. Since we all naturally use different types of OS and machines, option (1.3) would be the quickest way to jump-start. However, if you are planning to use Python heavily in the future, option (1.1) would be worthwhile.

2) Either option you choose, please make sure that the following packages are installed.

Astropy
Subprocess
Numpy
Matplotlib
Photutils
Pyregion
Scipy
Reproject
Astroquery
STDPipe
Warnings
Urllib
astroML
Spectres
Glob
extinction
SEP

3) Other software that might be of your interest (to install into your local machine):
Ds9
SExtractor (Source Extractor)
Swarp
Psfex
Astrometry.net

The folders for materials and codes for the hands-on tasks will be sent out later on.
Also check the workshop page for more info (it has been updated): https://indico.narit.or.th/event/191

For online participants, we will prepare electronic certificates for you.
See you all on Monday!

Cheers,
Krittapas
