About Chiang Mai

Currency

The Thai currency is the Baht (THB). 1.00 USD equals approximately 33.00 THB. Please kindly check the exchanging rate at the airport or other financial facilities on the date of your arrival.

There are money-exchanging facilities at Bangkok and Chiang Mai airports where you can exchange foreign currency for Thai Baht. In Chiang Mai, there are a number of banks and many ATMs in adjacent to where NARIT-SEA is being held, and also at numerous locations throughout the city. Most ATMs will accept the standard international credit cards. Some banks are also open during the evening and on weekends. It is recommended that you exchange or have Thai currency during your stay as some places only accept cash.

Electricity

Thailand uses 220V AC. A plug adapter can be purchased upon your arrival at the airport or at the local malls.

Weather

The school will be held in April, which is summer season in Thailand. Low temperature is around 22°C and high temperature is around 36°C. Although it is not a rainy season but occasionally there might be a tropical thunderstorm, so we recommend bringing light rain gear.
