DESCRIPTION:The Asian Gravitational Wave Astronomy Meeting 2026 will be he
ld on July 5–11\, 2026\, at the National Astronomical Research Institute
of Thailand in Chiang Mai\, Thailand. This meeting aims to bring togethe
r students\, early-career researchers\, and experts across Asia and beyond
to discuss recent developments in gravitational-wave (GW) astronomy\, ast
rophysics\, cosmology\, and fundamental physics. This meeting follows the
successful APCTP-GW2025 program held at Academia Sinica\, Taipei.\n\nAGWA
M-2026 is structured as an integrated six-day program with two complementa
ry components\, organised on alternating days to maximise interaction betw
een early-career researchers (ECRs)\, students\, and experts throughout th
 e week.\n\nThe first component is a three-day student school\, designed to
provide a broad and accessible introduction to GW science. It will featur
e pedagogical lectures by leading experts and hands-on sessions covering k
ey aspects of GW data analysis and observational techniques\, such as puls
ar timing.\n\nThe second component is a three-day technical workshop\, foc
using on current research topics and recent advances in the field.  It wi
ll include invited talks\, contributed presentations\, and open discussion
s\, with a strong emphasis on fostering participation by ECRs. \n\nBy alt
ernating school days and workshop days\, the program ensures that students
and ECRs can engage closely with experts over the full week\, moving seam
lessly from foundational learning to cutting-edge research discussions The
scientific program will cover a broad range of topics\, including:\n\nPul
sar Timing Arrays (PTAs) & Their Transformative Sciences\nCurrent and futu
re  ground-based GW observatories & Their Precision Sciences\nSpace-based
  GW missions  & Their Discovery-Driven Sciences\nEarly-Universe Probes
 & Their Foundational Sciences\nData Analysis\, Signal Processing  & Their
Computational Sciences\n\nDistinguished Invited Speakers\nAlvin Chua (Nat
ional University of Singapore)\nAndrew Miller (International Center for Th
eoretical Physics\, Asia Pacific)\nBruce Allen (Max Planck Institute for G
ravitational Physics)\nChunglee Kim (Ewha Womans University)\nDong Lai (Ts
ung-Dao Lee Institute)\nFeng-Li Lin (National Taiwan Normal Normal Univers
ity)\nHyung Mok Lee (Seoul National University)\nMairi Sakellariadou (King
's College London)\nMaria Alessandra Papa (Max Planck Institute for Gravit
ational Physics)\nMasahide Yamaguchi (Institute for Basic Science\, Korea)
\nMyungshin Im (Seoul National University)\nOtto Hannuksela (The Chinese U
niversity of Hong Kong)\nQuynh Lan Nguyen (Phenikaa University)\nSiyuan Ch
en (Shanghai Astronomical Observatory)\nSupakchai Ponglertsakul (Silpakorn
University)\nTakahiro Tanaka (Kyoto University)\nWang-Wei Yu (Max Planck
Institute for Gravitational Physics)\nYan Wang (Huazhong University of Sci
ence and Technology)\nYuki Inoue (National Central University\, Taiwan)\n\
nStudents and early-career researchers are especially encouraged to partic
ipate. The meeting will provide an inclusive platform for learning\, discu
ssion\, and networking with established leaders in the field. \n\nA dedic
ated open forum will address the theme of strengthening multi-band and mul
ti-messenger GW astronomy in the Asia-Pacific region\, with the explicit g
oal of identifying collaborative opportunities and establishing long-term
scientific priorities.\n\nContributed talks and posters are welcome\; howe
ver\, presentation slots are limited.\n\nDeadline for registration and abs
tract submission: May 15\, 2026\n\nSupport for attending the meeting will
be available to deserving participants.\n\nLight refreshments will be prov
ided during breaks. Participants will be responsible for their own meals.
A conference banquet will be organised during the week.\n\nFurther detai
ls regarding registration\, abstract submission\, and the scientific progr
am will be announced on this page.\n\nhttps://indico.narit.or.th/event/236
