DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Shibendu Gupta Choudhury (Indian Institute of Astrop
 hysics)\nIn this talk\, I present a model-independent spline reconstructio
n of cosmological distances using latest low-redshift datasets to investig
ate the late-time expansion history of the Universe. Comparing the reconst
ructed expansion history with the prediction of the Planck $\\Lambda$CDM m
odel\, I demonstrate a localized deviation over a certain redshift interva
l which reaches a maximum significance of approximately 3.5$\\sigma$ near
$z=0.47$. I further demonstrate that this feature persists under substanti
al variations of the reconstruction methodology\, dataset composition and
sound-horizon calibration. I argue using mock analyses that the reconstruc
tion is unbiased and that the observed anomaly is unlikely to arise from r
econstruction bias or miscalibrated uncertainties. If confirmed by future
observations\, this localized feature could point to previously unrecogniz
ed late-time physics or reveal subtle inconsistencies between early and la
 te Universe cosmological probes.\n\nhttps://indico.narit.or.th/event/234/c
